Soap From time to time, we hear someone say that they don't, or can't, use bar soap because it dries their skin too much. Soap is supposed to gently cleanse skin. Not strip it dry. So why does commericial soap often do just that? Well, if you look at a package, it usually says something like 'bath bar' or 'beauty bar'. Not soap. Why? Many large manufacturers actually remove glycerin, a natural result of soapmaking, out of their products, producing a cleanser that is often a close chemical relative of laundry detergent! Of course, its safe to use. But it is going to be hard on your skin. Our soap is different, glycerin based to gently cleanse away the day's grime and not your skin's protecting oils. Each bar of our soap is handcut from a larger loaf and will vary slightly in thickness. Although stated to be 'about 4oz', most bars weigh between 4.5 to 5oz.
